Tasty Books

Our classic go-to book for cooking techniques is The Cook’s Book from DK, edited by Jill Norman. Highly recommended for any aspiring chefs. It covers a lot of cooking basics, and has loads of recipe to practice your newly learned techniques. For example, did you you know there is a correct way to chop an onion? Find out what else you are doing wrong and buy this book!

The Geometry of Pasta by Jacob Kenedy has a great selection of pasta sauces matched to each different shape of pasta. Definitely one for the pasta afficionados. Illustrations by Caz Hildebrand are a beautiful compliment to the recipes.

Wagamama, Ways With Noodles by Hugo Arnold provides a great introduction to noodles. It explains the staple ingredients, types of noodles and cooking techniques of the Far East. Once you get the hang of it, you can make endless variations.

A Note on the Internet

Sites like Epicurious and BBC Food are great for finding recipes.
